I’m not perfect. I often order takeout when I can’t be bothered to open the fridge and cook something. I also enjoy going to restaurants as frequently as possible — which is precisely what I did when I went to New York. Since coming back to Toronto, I want to try my best to do less of those things. Mostly because I’ve spent way too much money going out, but I’ve also missed cooking at home.
That said, here are some exceptions I’m allowing myself to make:
I can go to a restaurant or order takeout for a birthday or special occasion
I can still go out for coffee and the occasional drink
I don’t want to completely deprive myself of these things since this is a part of my job after all, but I also want to be more mindful of how I share these things going forward. I know not everyone can afford to dine out.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to navigate my space on the internet because existing in this space with some sort of following is kind of terrifying, and I’m not even someone with millions of followers. I can only imagine how those people feel.
